HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Three members of the Hutchinson Fire Department continue to work down in Texas helping with the wildfire efforts. Cole Inghram, Justin Williams and Matt Brooks left for Texas last week..
Hutchinson Fire Chief Steven Beer says the crew is doing well. The three are part of a strike team with four other engines from Colorado and Virginia. They are still on a pre-position assignment outside of Dallas/Fort Worth.
Texas is primed for fires currently, with very hot and dry conditions. They have had two overhaul assignments and are doing training with the other engines, even training with aviation equipment.
Their 14-day assignment ends on the 13th. They will travel home on the 14th.
