Monthly Family Hikes Launch at Dillon Nature Center
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Families in Hutchinson will have new opportunities to explore the outdoors together as Hutch Rec rolls out a series of monthly guided hikes at Dillon Nature Center.
The program, led by Nature Education Coordinator Ethan Huston, invites participants to take part in themed hikes along the center’s trails throughout the spring and summer.

The next hike in the series is a “Pollination Station” hike on May 2. Additional events include “Trivia on the Trail” on June 21 and “Avian Adventures” on July 18. Later hikes scheduled include a “Firefly Hike” on August 14 and “Prairie Paths” on September 24. Each event has a registration deadline several days prior to the hike.
The registration deadline for the "Pollination Station" hike is Thursday April 30.
Organizers say the hikes are designed to combine outdoor recreation with environmental education, offering families a chance to learn about local ecosystems while staying active.
The program is open to families with children ages 3 and older, and strollers are welcome on the trails. Cost is $10 per family for members and $15 per family for non-members.
Hutch Rec encourages early registration, noting that pre-registration can help organizers plan for group sizes and activities.
More information, including registration details, is available through Hutch Rec.
