HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The No. 13 Dodge City Conquistadors used a strong second half to overpower Meridian (Miss.) 83-63 in the first round of the NJCAA Tournament on Monday in the Sports Arena.
The Conquistadors held a slim 30-27 halftime lead before outscoring the Eagles 53-36 in the second half to punch their ticket into the second round for the second straight year.
Dodge City was led by 26 points from Jason Edwards on 11 of 17 shooting, while also collecting 10 rebounds to complete the double-double. Tuscan Onuoha added 11 points off the bench.
The Conqs will play No. 4 Moberly (Mo.) on Wednesday at 12 p.m. after the Greyhounds received a first round bye.
