JOHNSON COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 7:30p.m. Friday in Johnson County,
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2018 Yamaha YZF driven by Jacob Garrett Hunsperger, 26, Gardner, was northbound on Interstate 35 just under 127th Street.
The motorcycle rear-ended a 2024 Jeep driven by Javier Hernandez, 33, Independence, Missouri. The motorcycle then swerved to the left and struck a 2014 Subaru Forester driven by Daniel Stewart Broyles, 56, Spring Hill.
Hunsperger was prounced dead at the scene and was transported to the Johnson County Medical Examiner's Office. The other drivers were properly restrained and not injured. Hunsperger was wearing a helmet and gloves at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
