
Jerry Deanne Forker, 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 23, 2023 at Wesley Towers, Hutchinson, KS. She was born October 2, 1941, in Hutchinson, KS to Cleon and Geraldine (Payne) Rogers.
Jerry graduated from Hutchinson High School and attended Hutchinson Community College where she received her associate’s degree. She went on to attend Emporia State University and then finished her undergraduate degree in teaching at Washburn University.
Jerry was heavily involved in the Hutchinson High School drum and bugle corp marching band and a Member of the 1960 and 1961 National championship Junior College Debate Team through Hutchinson Community College. Jerry was a volunteer for the Reno County Cancer Society and New Life Christian Church for many years. She was a member of New Life Christian Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Silver Leaf Chapter # 464.
Jerry was preceded in death by her father, Cleon Rogers; mother, Geraldine Hood and Geraldine’s husband, William (Bill) Hood.
She is survived by her three daughters, Sarah (Daren) Fankhauser, Amy (Milt) Mounts and Dana (Jamie) Rice; and six grandchildren, Lauren Koehler, Maddie Fankhauser, Lindsey Fankhauser, Alec Koehler, Colby Rice and Grant Rice.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 27, 2023, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS with Pastor John Frey officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with no family present and from 10:00 a.m. to service time with family present on Friday at the funeral chapel. Burial will take place in Fairlawn Cemetery, Hutchinson, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Wesley Towers or New Life Christian Church and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
