WYANDOTTE COUNTY —A Kansas man convicted of killing his estranged wife is going to prison.
This week, 34-year-old Miguel Flores was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for at least 25-year-old, according to the Wyandotte County District Attorney's office.
The sentence follows his conviction of first degree murder in the shooting death of his wife 23-year-old Loren Flores on November 21, 2022.
Detectives reported the couple were married, but in the process of a divorce when he shot her outside a residence.
Flores then fled the scene, but was taken into custody a short time later by police.
