HUTCHINSON, Kan. — On June 14, 2024, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., the Cosmosphere will celebrate Sally’s Night, the 41st Anniversary of astronaut Dr. Sally Ride becoming the first American woman in space. While remembering Dr. Ride’s achievements, the event will also spotlight women working in STEM related fields.
Cosmosphere Curator Shannon Whetzel will share stories of the “Rocket Girls,” a group of human computers who worked at NASA and JPL from the 1940s through the 1960s.
The event includes cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, and appetizers. It is free to Cosmosphere members and fifteen dollars for non-members.
