In loving memory of Rodney "Rod" Allen Robbins, a man whose skilled hands and gentle spirit touched the lives of many. Rod, born in Newton on July 15, 1956, bid farewell to this world on February 29, 2024 in the same town called home.
Rod's journey was marked by his diverse career at Excel Industries, Coleman, Newton Music Service, Mowridge, Kansas Alarm Service, and lastly Stanley Black and Decker. His knack for reassembling things others had dismantled earned him a reputation as the best in his craft. Beyond his professional endeavors, Rod was a graduate of Newton High School's class of 1974.
Described as a jack of all trades, observant, and easygoing individual, Rod's charisma and adaptability endeared him to all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him. His love for traveling and motorcycle rides spoke volumes about his adventurous spirit and zest for life.
Rod is survived by his son Shawn (Shannon) Robbins, his sister Rita Adams, and his grandchildren Jaxson and Holley Robbins. He is preceded in death by his father Robert "Clint" Robbins, mother Ruth (Gibbons) Huebert, brother Robert "Steve" Robbins, son Jon Robbins, and nephew Jeremy Adams. In celebrating Rod's life, let us remember the joy he brought to those around him and the legacy of kindness he leaves behind.
A visitation to honor Rodney's memory will be held at Peterson Family Funeral Home in Newton on March 7th from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. the funeral service will take place at the same location on March 8th from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
