Reno County registered voter count is up

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The number of registered voters in Reno County has increased since the last presidential election in July of 2020. As the Aug. 2 primary approaches, Reno County has 41,304 registered voters. That compares with 39,811 in 2020.

There are now 8,511 registered Democrats in the county, a drop of 239; registered Libertarians now total 471, an increase of 101 voters and there are 20,842 registered Republicans, an increase of 1,263. The number of unaffiliated voters also increased in the county from 11,112 to 11,480.

Advance voting for the Aug. 2 primary is underway at the Reno County Annex. As of Monday, more than 450 voters had already cast a ballot. Voting can be done during normal business hours at the annex from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. The annex will also be open until 7 p.m. the next two Wednesdays and from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 30.
