Harold C. Thiessen, 94, of Inman, Kansas, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 21, 2024 at the Hospice House in Hutchinson. He was born on October 11, 1929 in Hutchinson, to Cornelius H. and Elizabeth (Schierling) Thiessen.
He graduated from Inman High School with the class of 1948. Harold was a crop and livestock farmer and a lifelong resident in the Inman community.
He was united in marriage to Arlene Algrim on October 18, 1959 in Hutchinson. She preceded him in death on August 25, 2019. Together they cared for their daughter, Carol, in their home until 2005, when she moved to an Interfaith Housing group home.
Harold is survived by his daughters, Beth Jones of Hutchinson, Ellen (Lyndon) Dick of Munich, North Dakota, and Carol Thiessen of Hutchinson; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Rosalie (Leland) Flickinger of Hesston.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and two sisters, Evelyn Ens and Lovella Thiessen.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 29, 2024 at Zoar Cemetery with memorial services to follow at 11 a.m., at Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church, Inman. The services will be livestreamed at www.youtube.com/@zoarmbchurchinmanks. Family will greet friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, July 28, at the church.
