Wayne L. Roberson, 78, passed away on December 1, 2023, at his home in Hutchinson. He was born and raised in Hutchinson and graduated from high school there. Later, he moved to Wichita and worked for Koch Industries.
Wayne trained horses and bird dogs for years in Wichita. He won many awards for his exceptional skills. Hunting, fishing, and telling entertaining stories were his favorite pastimes. You could always tell he had a great story to share by the smirk on his face. He returned to Hutchinson after retiring to be closer to his parents and brothers and spend his final years relaxing.
Family and friends will deeply feel the absence of Wayne’s kind and generous spirit, calm demeanor, and compassionate heart.
Wayne is survived by: his daughter, Michelle (Joe) Turley of Fort Knox, KY; son, Dale Roberson of Tulsa, OK; and grandson, Joseph Turley Jr. of Fort Knox, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W 4th Ave, Hutchinson. Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main. Hutchinson, KS 67501.
