
Patsy Ann Tharp-Gonzales, 81, of Hutchinson, died March 22, 2025, at her home. She was born May 16, 1943, in Amarillo, TX, to Theodore Grimes and Helen (Bailey) Grimes.
Patsy graduated from Hutchinson Community College. She worked for many years as a machinist at Cessna/Eaton until they closed and she retired. Patsy then went to work, and volunteered, at The Salvation Army. She also owned and operated The Whole Enchilada in Hutchinson for a number of years. Patsy enjoyed “junking” with her grandchildren, finding antiques at flea markets and garage sales. She also loved to play the slot machines at casinos.
Patsy was married to Steven Estil Tharp from 1958 to 1978. In 1992, she married Armando Gonzales in Amarillo, TX. He died August 5, 2001.
Patsy is survived by: her children, Jim Tharp (Claudia) of Cimmaron, Brenda Pennick (Jeff), Stephanie Brown (Mark Mounce), Helen Pope (Dion) all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, James Brown (Jill), Malissa Pettay (Ricky Allen), Nathaniel Brown, Chelsea Pope, Megan Pope, Brahm Pope, Cory Tharp, Heather Gilliam, Tessa Tharp, Harleigh Tharp, Keely Tharp; great-grandchildren, Sire Boyd, Royalti Boyd, Dion Brown Jr., Da’Raun Brown, Zoe Brown, Caitlin Brown, Alexsis Brown, Rihanna Brown, Bruce Wilson, Deacon Brown, Marydith Brown, Howl Tharp-Dungan, Ethan Pettay, Kolten Pettay, Tegin Spears; great-great-grandson, Bennett Brown; and many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Peggy Martinez and David Grimes.
Cremation has taken place.
A come and go Celebration of Life will be held from 11a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025, at The Salvation Army, 700 N. Walnut St., Hutchinson.
Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tuesday thru Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
