
Jerry C. Gentry Sr., 86, of Hutchinson, died surrounded by family on August 18, 2025 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born June 9, 1939, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to Lyle and Pauline (Sizemore) Gentry.
On May 17, 1957, he married Martha Mora in Hutchinson. They shared 68 beautiful years together before his death.
Jerry was an enthusiastic outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, and spending time with his hunting dogs, Jake and Max. He was a boxing instructor with the local Catholic Youth Organization. Jerry was a proud softball coach for many years and touched the lives of many young women. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Tennessee Volunteers. Above all, Jerry loved to spend time creating memories with his family.
Jerry is survived by his: beloved wife, Martha Gentry of Hutchinson; children, Jerry (Jennifer) Gentry Jr. of Buhler, Debbie (Deron) McCue of Hutchinson; adored grandchildren, Jessica (TJ) Dilbeck, Jeremy Gentry, Olivia (Carlos) Gentry, Austin (Jenaka) Gentry, Kayla Gentry, Brayden (Karson) Gentry, Chase Gentry, Jamie Scott, Amanda McCue, DJ McCue, and Haley McCue; great-grandchildren, Jakob Dilbeck, Emily (Evan) Remar, Jeremy Gentry Jr., Theodore Cornejo, Keylonna Hendricks & Nayeli; brother, Tom (Faye) Gentry; sister-in-law, Sheila Gentry; numerous in laws, nieces, nephews & extended family.
He was preceded in death by his: parents, Lyle and Pauline Gentry; daughter, Geralyn Gentry; brother, Robert Gentry; and In-laws, Theodore and Josephine Mora.
Visitation with the family present will be Wednesday, August 20, 2025 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m., at Elliott Mortuary Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 612 S. Maple, South Hutchinson, KS. Cremation will follow with private family burial at a later date.
