KCPD using helicopter unit to bust illegal sideshows

KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement authorities in Kansas City Kansas and Missouri worked together and issued 32 citations and towed five vehicles April 7, to counter illegal sideshows, according to a social media report from the KCPD.

Sideshows include individuals meeting at vacant lots or roadways to perform car stunts and play music.

Teams of officers broke up dangerous activity that popped up across the city.

The officers used stop sticks to deflate the tires of those participating and then eluding the law.

There were:39 successful stop stick deployments 27 traffic citations, 4 city warrant arrests. 3 vehicles towed, 1 felony warrant arrest and 1 child endangerment – a participant, with his 7-year-old, attempted to elude officers.
