
MCPHERSON COUNTY — A booking has been made in connection with the fatal accident over the weekend in McPherson County.
According to public records, 25-year-old Brice Kasting has been arrested on suspicion of Murder in the 2nd Degree, accident involving death or personal injury, Driving While Intoxicated and Reckless Driving.
MCPHERSON COUNTY — The Kansas Highway Patrol is seeking information on a fatal accident that occurred Saturday night in McPherson County.
According to a social media post from Kansas Highway Patrol Troop C, on the night of September 30th, a fatal hit and run crash involving a vehicle and a bicyclist occurred on 17th Avenue just south of Mohawk Rd in McPherson County.
A witness described the vehicle involved as a white Chevy or GMC pickup truck, seen driving erratically on 17th before turning west onto Northview near the city of McPherson. Troopers found a sticker on the scene, linking the vehicle to a 2004-2012 GMC Canyon or Chevy Colorado. It's likely to have damage on the front right side and possibly a missing right turn signal bulb.
We are asking the community for their help in locating the vehicle involved, and the driver of the vehicle. We believe the person responsible might be local, given the route they took. Please be vigilant when driving through McPherson and keep an eye out for this specific type of vehicle. Your assistance is crucial in helping us find the responsible party.

MCPHERSON COUNTY — One person died in an accident just after 8 p.m. Saturday in McPherson County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a pickup was southbound on 17th Avenue at Mohawk Road on mile east of Interstate 135 and struck a pedestrian identified as Pedro Amezcua-Cabrera, then fled from the scene.
Amezcua-Cabrera was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to the Sedgwick County Forensic Science Center.
