Kansas City man sentenced for knife attack in Walmart

KANSAS CITY —A Kansas City man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for the stabbing in December 2018 of a woman inside a Walmart Supercenter, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.

A Jackson County judge sentenced Brian S. LeNoble, 26, to 15 years in prison for Domestic Assault 1st Degree and three years for a conviction of Armed Criminal Action. The  sentences were set to run consecutively for a total of 18 years in prison.

According to court records, an off-duty officer at Walmart was called to the automotive center on a reported stabbing. The officer observed a large cut on the victim's neck and a knife was still embedded. The officer took the defendant into custody. The defendant told the officer he tried to kill the victim. The defendant told police he grabbed a knife at the store and stabbed the victim. When she screamed, he ran.
