
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Dragons (18-3, 12-3) survived eight lead changes and six ties Wednesday to beat Barton (11-10, 5-9).
Barton took a four-point halftime lead after Hutchinson scored the game's first seven points.
With 13:59 left, the Cougars took an 11-point lead.
Hutchinson fought back to take an 81-80 lead with 6:04 remaining after a Nate Goodlow three.
Goodlow's bucket came after five straight points from Jayden Hall.
Hutchinson forced Barton into a couple of shot clock violations and went up 84-82 after a Kobe Campbell And-1.
Hutchinson took an 89-85 lead with 30 seconds left after a tough basket in the paint from Jacquez Yow.
The Cougars pulled within two with 11.3 remaining on a Hannes Saar layup.
Hutchinson went to the line and got the ball back after a flagrant foul from Trey Rolfs.
Up 93-89 after Angelo Stuart hit both free throws, Yow broke away on the inbound and slammed home the game's final basket.

Five Dragons scored in double figures, led by Stuart's 20. Yow (19), Campbell (14) — who returned from injury — Hall (11) and Lennox (10) also added double-digit scoring.
Hutchinson shot just 26.8% from distance, but made 11 threes, compared to Barton's 2 of 10.
Cougar Downing led Barton with 23 points.
Hutchinson put up 86 shots while shooting 38.4%. Barton made 29 of 62 attempts (46.8%).
Barton turned the ball over 21 times to Hutchinson's nine. The Dragons scored just 21 points off those turnovers.
