JACKSON COUNTY —A teen died in a pedestrian accident just before 9p.m. Thursday in Jackson County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2024 Ford Bronco driven by a 27-year-old Independence, Missouri woman was westbound on Interstate 70 at Woods Chapel Road and struck a pedestrian identified as a 17-year-old Oak Grove, Missouri, boy.
Preliminary investigation reveals the teen was the driver of a vehicle being pursued by police, according to the MSHP.. The driver fled the vehicle, running across the eastbound lanes onto the westbound lanes where he struck and killed. The MSHP released no additional details.
