HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Fire Department responded to 2704 North Madison for a structure fire at 2:05 p.m. Friday.

The residential home had a moderate amount of smoke coming from all vents to the attic when crews arrived. Crews performed an aggressive interior attack and limited the spread of fire to a small area in the attic.

The occupants were not home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was the result of a tree limb that fell on a residential power line that damaged the weather head and electrical box igniting a fire in the attic.

Hutchinson Fire Department would like to thank RCEMS, HPD, Kansas Gas and Evergy for their assistance at Friday's scene.
