HUTCHINSON, Kan. — After taking today (Monday) off the Hutchinson Fire Department will continue with the wildfire mitigation program Tuesday. The fire department completed the burning along 30th and 17th Avenues on Friday.
The fire department hopes to resume burning along North Plum and possibly East 82nd between Plum and Monroe. Crews are also expected to burn along 69th near the Sandhills State Park, and along Inverness and Spyglass near Prairie Dunes. The burning is expected to last through mid-February.
Motorists might experience delays or even short term road closings due to fire equipment and smoke.
