HALSTEAD, Kan. — Voters in Halstead-Bentley USD 440 passed a bond Tuesday that will add additions and improvements to multiple USD 440 schools.
The bond was passed 352 to 321.
The bond of no more than $28,500,000 will go toward:
Bentley Primary School
• Build New Secure Entrance and Administrative Addition
• Playground Equipment and Fall Protection
• Expand Parking Lot with Drop Off/Pick Up
• Add Outdoor Classroom Paving and Shade
• Build New Dedicated Cafeteria and Restroom Addition
• Build New Kitchen Addition
• Renovate Existing Library
• Renovate Existing PE, Health, and Gym Space
• Convert Existing Administrative Space to Special Education Classrooms
• Renovate Existing Restrooms
• Update First, Second, and Third Grade Classrooms
• Update Special Education and Music Classrooms
Halstead Middle
• Renovate Existing Cafeteria
• Build New Cafeteria Addition
• Renovate and Expand Existing Kitchen and Serving
• Expand Pre-K Parking
• Expand West Parking with Drop Off/Pick Up
• Convert Existing Space to Secure Pre-K Entrance
• Convert Existing Spaces to Pre-K Classrooms, Including Restrooms
• Renovate Existing Restrooms for Accessibility
• Build New Activity Entrance with Accessible Restrooms and Concessions
Halstead High
• Convert Existing FACS Classroom to Commercial Culinary Arts Classroom
