A long-vacant convenience store in northwest Hutchinson is back in business.
Quick Stop opened July 10 at 1000 W. 30th Ave., the former Pic Quik / SQRL location that had been vacant for the past few years.

Owner Jimmy Muthana and his son, Moe, who operates the business, purchased the property a little more than a year ago. Since then, they have spent the past year cleaning, renovating and restoring the building in preparation for reopening.

The family said they saw an opportunity to bring a neighborhood convenience store back to an area of Hutchinson that has been without one for several years. The store features Hunt Brothers Pizza made hot and fresh.
The store is intended to serve residents in northwest Hutchinson by providing a nearby option for fuel, snacks, beverages and other everyday convenience items.

Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sundays from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The reopening brings new life to a property that had remained unused for six years and restores a neighborhood service that many area residents had been missing.
