KANSAS CITY—A man faces charges in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in a Kansas City suburb earlier this month.
William Adams, 25, is charged with 2nd Degree Murder, Armed Criminal Action and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson.
According to court records, Independence officers responded to the area of North Dover Drive and East Dover Lane on Sept. 17 and located the victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Detectives determined Adams and the victim were engaged in an argument. When a witness attempted to separate them, Adams produced a firearm and fired about two rounds at the victim. Adams then fled the scene on foot.
A Jackson County judge set the Adam’s bond to $100,000 cash only.
