Honor Flights resume Wednesday

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — After being forced to take a year off due to the pandemic, Kansas Honor Flights are back.

The first of ten flights takes off Wednesday and returns on Friday.  The first flight will be taken by two World War II veterans, eight Korean War veterans, and 22 Vietnam War veterans.  The veterans will visit the World War II Memorial, the Korean Veterans Memorial, Iwo Jima Memorial, the Navy Memorial, Air Force Memorial, and the Vietnam Memorial.  Additionally, the group will tour the Lincoln Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and Ft. McHenry.

As always there will be a welcome home celebration in the baggage claim area of the Wichita Eisenhower Airport terminal. Face masks are required.  Free parking will be available in the short-term lot.
