
HAYS, Kan. — The Hutchinson High School boys golf team placed second at the KSHSAA class 5A regional on Monday at Smoky Hill Country Club in Hays. The Salthawks finished two strokes behind Salina South for the regional championship.
The Cougars shot a 353, while the Salthawks recorded a 355. Hays High came in third place with a 359.
Hutchinson senior Ty Adkins recorded a 7-over par score of 78 to claim the top spot on the individual leaderboard, while Salina South sophomore Jackson Perry finished second with a 10-over par score of 81.
Junior Roman Kulick-Hart and sophomore Mitchell Rice finished tied for 10th place with a 20-over score of 91 to finish as the second and third highest Salthawks on the leaderboard.
Hutchinson qualifies as a team to compete in the KSHSAA class 5A state championship on May 22-23 at Turkey Creek Golf Course in McPherson. You can find more information on the state championship here.
