HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Zoo is looking for volunteers in the gift shop.
Volunteers will greet zoo visitors, provide information about the zoo, assist customers in the gift shop, help price merchandise and restock displays, operate the cash register, make change and bag purchases, as well as answer the gift shop phone.
Volunteers must have good communication skills, a pleasant personality, basic computer skills since the cash register is tied to the computer system, be able to count back change, be responsible, follow directions and handle responsibilities without continued close supervision.
Volunteers may sit during slow times. Volunteers are needed from 2 to 5 p.m. Mondays, noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, noon to 3 p.m. Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Shift times can be negotiated if needed. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.
