HUTCHINSON, Kan.— The unemployment rate fell in Reno County in August. According to figures released from Kansas Department of Labor Friday, the jobless rate for August was 4.5%, compared with 4.7% in July. The jobless rate for August of 2020 was 6.1%.
There were 1,326 area residents out of work compared with 1,415 in July. The unemployment rate fell in most area counties as companies pushed to fill vacancies.
The states unemployment rate stayed at 3.8% with just over 58,000 Kansans looking for work.
