Carol Ann Parker, 73, passed away June 18, 2024, at Ascension Via Christi-St Joseph, Wichita, with all her family by her side. She was born Feb. 20, 1951, in Highland Park, Illinois, the daughter of John “Jack” William and Ruth Elizabeth Pirie Liske. While living in Chicago Carol grew up an avid Chicago Bears fan, loved being in the city. She graduated from Deerfield High School, Deerfield, Ill and went on to receive her LPN. She worked as an LPN at Evanston Hospital for a few years before meeting Loren Thiessen. In 1972 they married and began a family. In 1980 they moved the family to Inman, KS where she stayed home to take care of her children. Her and Loren split in 2001, she then moved to Wichita and worked at Dillons on Harry St. for many years. Over the years, she loved spending time with her kids and grandkids and watching their extracurricular school activities. She attended Central Community Church, Wichita.
Survivors include her companion of many years, William “Bill” Spencer, Wichita; her children. Amy (Darren) Blackburn, West Columbia, TX, Chad (Amanda) Thiessen, Houston, TX, Brian (Jayme) Thiessen, Buhler, and Derek (Kasey) Thiessen, Inman; a sister, Jane Vincent, Hillsboro, OR; 21 grandchildren, Noah Blackburn, Emily Blackburn, Anna Blackburn, Connie Robinson, Liam Robinson, Malory Blackburn, David Blackburn, Baleigh Linker, Luke Thiessen, Trase Thiessen, Daci Thiessen, Nora Thiessen, Payton Thiessen, Vonn Thiessen, Payslie Thiessen, Presli Thiessen, Jazalyn Thiessen, Gracin Thiessen, Maliyah Thiessen, Shelby Thiessen, Tenley Thiessen; and 1 great grandchild, Noah Blackburn Jr.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Per her request, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 5-7PM Friday, June 21, 2024, at Inman Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the funeral home. The family asks in honor of Carol’s huge love of the Bears that you wear Bears attire to the service. The service will be live streamed on the Inman Funeral Home Facebook Page.
