Cosmosphere hosting X-59 event Friday

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — NASA has contracted with Lockheed Martin Skunk Works to build a new, full-scale X-plane to help solve the challenge of understanding sonic booms and how to make them quieter.

The Live Watch Party for the Rollout Ceremony of NASA's X-59 QueSST (short for Quiet SuperSonic Technology), an experimental piloted aircraft.will begin at 2:45 p.m., Friday, January 12, in the Cosmosphere's Grand Lobby. NASA’s live coverage will begin at 3:00 p.m.
