HUTCHINSON, Kan. — John Eberly with the Hutchinson Art Center is glad to be a part of a long-standing tradition in the Salt City.

"The Art Association started back in 1949," Eberly said. "It met only in people's homes for a while, some art enthusiasts who then raised a lot of money and found a way to buy the former Jewish center up on North Main Street. When I got here in 1993 to teach Art History up at the college, it was still there. It was a beautiful building, it still is. It's now a private artist's studio. Then, we moved down to the present location at 405 North Washington."

The present building was donated in 1995 by Ace and Betty Dillon. Eberly would love to see pictures of it or of any of the previous activities of the Art Association, if the community has them to provide.

"We need your help," Eberly said. "If you have any photographs, memorabilia of the Art Association or the Hutchinson Art Center that you'd like to share with us, please contact us. We can be contacted by email, or call us, as we said, at (620) 663-1081 or even send us mail at 405 North Washington. We'd love to have your memories."
