Arrest made in attempted murder in downtown Hutchinson Thursday

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Police made an arrest connected to a disturbance Thursday morning.

According to a release from Capt. Dayton Gates, at approximately 8:33 a.m., officers were dispatched to 1st Ave and Main Street for a disturbance. When officers arrived on scene, they located a male victim with a laceration to his body. Another victim reported a male threatening him with a knife during the same incident.

The injured victim was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for treatment. He is currently in stable condition. Briantey L. Baskin, 26 YOA male of Hutchinson, was arrested for Attempted Murder in the First Degree and Aggravated Assault.
