Susan Kay Snyder, 76, of Lehigh, Kansas, passed away at 9:40 p.m., Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Parkside Homes, Hillsboro, Kansas.

Sue was born in Muscatine, Iowa on February 28, 1947, a daughter of Jacob Henry and Ruby Helena (Knipfer) Brei.

Sue attended rural country schools, Pine Bluff and Iowa Patterson grade school, New Era, Iowa, West Junior High School and graduated from Muscatine High School, Muscatine, Iowa. She then attended Lutheran Hospital School For Nurses where she graduated with her nursing degree.

Susan Kay Brei was united in marriage to James Snyder on May 25, 1968 in New Era, Iowa. The young couple established their First home in Colona, Illinois. This union was blessed with the birth of 5 children, Trella, Katherine, Clinton, Joanna and David.

Through the years, Sue worked as a nurse for Illini Hospital, Silvis, Illinois, Dickinson County Hospital, Iron Mountain, Michigan and Hutchinson Regional Hospital for 24 years until she retired. Susan then worked in pediatric home care for 12 years.

Sue enjoyed playing the piano and organ, Singing, sewing, crocheting, loved nature, painting, wood carving and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, James Snyder, of Leigh, Kansas; her children, Carrie Becker and her husband Matt, of Galva, Kansas, Clinton Snyder, of Leigh, Kansas, Joanna Jarvis and her husband, Dustan, of Newton, Kansas and David Snyder and his wife, Hanna , of McPherson, Kansas. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Samantha, Sarah, Rachel, Riley, Hailee, Kayla, Destry, Madison and Ruby.
10 great grandchildren with two more on the way. other relatives and a host of friends and relatives.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Trella.

Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. on June 10, 2023 at First Christian Church in McPherson, Kansas with Pastor David Dixon officiating.
