Mary Anna Green, age 93, passed away on Monday, Apr. 24, 2023 at Kenwood Plaza, St. John, KS. She was born on June 3, 1929 in Nashville, TN. the daughter of Ralph and Stella (Craft) Alvis.
Mary was a St. John resident for 85 years and worked as a Dillons produce manager and for the St. John School cafeteria. On Oct. 12, 1985 she married Gary Green in Las Vegas, NV. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, St. John.
Mary is survived by daughters, Wanda (Jim) Golding, Yukon, OK, Sheryl (Danny) Smiley, Bushton, KS; a brother, Ed Alvis, Burlington, KS; sisters, Barbara (Jim) Heusner, El Dorado, KS, Peggy (Stan) MacGirvin, Hutchinson, KS; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gary and both parents. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Thurs. Apr. 27, 2023 at Minnis Chapel, St. John. Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., Fri., Apr. 28, 2023 at Minnis Chapel, St. John, KS., with Pastor Roland Broeder presiding.
Burial will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John, KS. Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS 67576.
