KANSAS CITY —One person died in an accident just after 12:30a.m. Tuesday in Kansas City.
A John Deere Buck ATV was southbound on a concrete trail at 5121 Raytown Road, according to the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department.
The ATV struck a yellow metal pole used to divide the lanes of the trail and was ejected from the vehicle. First responders pronounced the driver, who was not wearing a helmet, deceased at the scene, according to the KCPD. The accident remains under investigation.
This is fatality #30 compared to #16 at the same time last year, according to the KCPD.
