
GARDEN CITY, Kan. — No. 21 Hutchinson (23-7, 17-7) faced a 44-31 deficit with 6:38 left before the half Wednesday night.
The Dragons battled back within four by halftime thanks to a Cecil Lee steal and a half-court buzzer beater from Angelo Stuart.
Behind Jacquez Yow's career night, the Dragons trailed by one with two minutes left.
Kaimen Lennox scored off an inbound to give Hutchinson the lead with 1:26 remaining.
Stuart hit two free throws with 20 seconds left to stretch the lead to three.
Stuart was called for a foul on the other end. The Busters made the first free throw and missed the second. Garden City (21-9, 15-9) gathered the offensive board on the miss and the Dragons fouled again.
With 13.4 seconds remaining, Garden City once again went 1 of 2.
Hutchinson had to inbound against full-court pressure. Stuart stumbled when he received the pass and turned the ball over on a travel.
With 4.5 seconds left, Cecil Lee fouled Mo Diarra as he backed down into the paint. Lee fouled out on the play.
Diarra made the first and missed the second. The Dragons rebounded the ball with no timeouts left.
A Kobe Campbell heave at the buzzer bounced hard off the backboard.
The game went into OT tied at 100.
Overtime belonged to the Dragons as Yow continued his career night.
The Dragons opened up the extra frame on an 11-4 run.
A Diarra three clanked off back iron in the final seconds as Hutchinson dribbled out the remainder of overtime.

Hutchinson made good on 9 of 10 free throw tries in OT.
The Dragons shot 81.8% from the line on the night.
Garden City led by as many as 16 in the first half.
Yow had a monster game with a career-high 39 points. He also grabbed nine rebounds and dished four assists.
Campbell produced a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Stuart added 17 points while Lennox had 10.
Garden City was led by Tone Hunter's 22 points off the bench.
Diarra had 18 points, 12 rebounds and seven blocks.
Hutchinson shot 45.3% overall, despite hitting only 7 of 27 threes (25.9%).
The Busters shot 41.7%.
