JACKSON COUNTY—A Kansas man died in an accident just after 4:30a.m. Monday in Jackson County, Missouri.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2025 Mack Truck driven by a 62-year-old Fort Scott man was westbound on Interstate 70 at Woods Chapel Road. The traveled off the right side of the road, struck a guardrail, overturned and caught fire.
The driver was pronouced dead at the scene. He was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
