SALINA—Kenwood Cove Aquatic Park sustained $3,000 worth of damage earlier this week, according to Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester

Sometime between Monday and Wednesday, someone entered the Aquatic Park, 701 Kenwood Park Drive in Salina and damaged six wall panels.

Two of the panels were on the front by the main entrance. One of the panels appeared to be damaged with a blunt object, according to Forrester. The other had light-colored paint or stain on it.

Two panels inside the fence south of the main entrance had an "X" with a circle around it painted on them with the same light-colored paint/stain. Additionally, two panels near the locker rooms had the word "loop" painted on them with the same paint/stain. Total damage was estimated at $3,000. The park is closed until next summer.
