HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The staff of Eagle Radio Hutchinson earned top honors at the annual Eagle Radio sales convention this week, which was held virtually as a result of social distancing requirements.

The team was presented with the Eagle Spirit Award, which is awarded to the market that demonstrates resilience in response to a challenging situation, turns it into success and overachieves. It takes hard work, teamwork and continuous improvement.

"I am extremely proud of the team here at Eagle Communications in Hutchinson," Nancy Swain, Eagle Radio of Hutchinson general manager, said. "Through an incredibly difficult year including the pandemic, finding new ways of working from home, and multiple leadership changes, they have continued to focus on our local businesses — helping them tell their story to keep the public informed. Our community is fortunate to have such a dedicated team working on their behalf."

Swain, a longtime marketing consultant with Eagle of Hutchinson, was named general manager of the market beginning in 2021, replacing Terry Drouhard, who retired at the end of 2020.

“We are extremely proud of the Eagle team in Hutchinson. Nancy and her team persevered throughout the COVID situation in 2020 making sure that they maintained their commitment to their clients, through programs like Hear Your Voice, which allowed Hutchinson-area businesses to inform their customers of continued operations throughout COVID," Kurt David, Eagle CEO, said. "The Hutchinson team also stayed active in supporting the community through programs like Boo at the Zoo, Project Concern/Salvation Army and the annual Adopt-A-Child program."
