SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement investigating a shooting have made an arrest.
Jst after 11p.m. January 15, 2026, at approximately 11:08 p.m., police responded to a shooting call at the intersection of SE 6th Street and Sherman Street in Topeka, according to a media release. Police then received information on a subject arriving at a local hospital by private vehicle with apparent gunshot wounds. The shooting victim was air-lifted to a Kansas City hospital with life-threatening injuries.
On April 1, Police reported as a result of the investigation, Isaiah Arthur Ray Timmons, 19, Topeka, was transported to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on a requested charge of Attempted First Degree Murder.
