Frank E. McKedy 85, died January 16, 2024 at Kansas Christian Home. He was born May 27, 1938 in Dickens, Missouri to Russell and Dora (Dennett) McKedy. On November 29, 1959 he married Donna Lee McMichael at Garden City, Kansas and she survives of the home.
He served his country in the United States Air Force for 4 years and was an active member of the First Christian Church in Newton.
Family was important to Frank and he greatly looked forward to spending time with his loving family and many friends.
He worked as a dispatcher for Sunflower Electric Garden City for nearly 30 years prior to his retirement. Following retirement Frank moved to Newton in 2006
He is survived by his wife Donna of the home; daughters Sheila (Mike) Wagner and Sandra Thorns; brother Leon (Sue) McKedy; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Fred and Charles McKedy; sister Ruby Scrivner and grandson Landon
A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 26, 2024 at First Christian Church in Newton with The Reverend Gary Bell presiding. Graveside committal service will be in Greenwood Cemetery Newton.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church in Newton and left in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
