TURON, Kan. — The Reno County Sheriff's Office is looking for help from Turon residents after an incident at the pool last week.

According to a social media post, sometime overnight between Thursday night the 10th and Friday morning the 11th of August, somebody decided it was a good idea to break into the Turon Swimming Pool for some snacks and in the process did about $500 worth of damage to get to them.

"In all fairness, this type of criminal damage and theft appears to be petty, juvenile type behavior that someone in this small community knows about and knows exactly who did it," the Sheriff's Office said.

The department noted that the damage/food cost most generally doesn't come out of the city's bank account, this comes out of the manager's. It ultimately keeps the community members from enjoying the swimming pool and going to the concession stand.

If you have information about the criminal damage and theft, the Sheriff's Office would like to hear from you. You can call them at at 620-694-2735 or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477) or 620-694-2677.
