Lowana A. “Lou” Morawitz, 88, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Mennonite Friendship Communities in South Hutchinson, KS. She was born March 22, 1935, in Alva, OK, the daughter of William and Marie (Vondracek) Ring.
In 1953, Lou graduated from Capron High School, Capron, OK. On January 1, 1954, Lou married Frankie Morawitz in Anthony, KS. They shared 54 years of marriage together before he passed away in 2008. She worked at Mennonite Manor as a Dietician for 12 years. Lou and Frankie went on to manage the VIP-LaFeria RV Park in LaFeria, TX and River Ranch Resort RV Park in Rio Hondo, TX. Lou loved to spend time with family and friends. She would take any opportunity to go dancing.
Lou is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frankie; sister, Rita Chambers; and brother, Bill Ring.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Rebecca) Morawitz; grandson, Darren (Anna) Morawitz; great grandson, August Morawitz; and sisters – in- law, Jannette Talley and Eleanor Ring.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Community Center Building, South Hutchinson, KS. Lunch will be provided. Memorial Contributions are suggested to Gentiva Hospice and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS 67502.
