Marietta Marlene Harmon, 89, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away August 31, 2024, at Country Living of Lyons. She was born July 28, 1935, in Beaver, Oklahoma, the daughter of Harold Fitzgerald and Mary Ethel (Jacobs) McAdams. Marietta has resided in Lyons since 1963, formerly of Beaver, Oklahoma. She graduated from Forgan High School, Forgan, Oklahoma, with the class of 1953.
Marietta was a homemaker and antique dealer and collector. She was a member of Faith Bible Church, Lyons. Marietta enjoyed her flower gardens. On October 15, 1987, she was united in marriage with William G. Harmon in Lyons. He preceded her in death on January 28, 2012. She is also preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Cynthia K. Miller. Marietta is survived by her three sons, Dale Higgins of Chase, KS, Harold Higgins (Terry) of Rossville, KS, and Russell Higgins (Lori) of Fairmont, MN; son-in-law, Randy Miller (Rogene) of Holton, KS; sister, Norma Jean Starr of Kismit, KS; nine grandchildren, Katie Webb (Jesse) of Lyons, KS, Jacob Higgins (Erica) of Lyons, KS, Shannon Higgins of Lyons, KS, Gavin Higgins (Sherry) of Lyons, KS, Crystal Fall (Luke) of Lyons, KS, Colton Higgins (Carly) of Prior Lake, MN, Riley Higgins of Richfield, MN, Russell Miller (Melissa) of Tonkawa, OK, and Sarah Miller of Albuquerque, NM; and nineteen great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Faith Bible Church, Lyons, with Pastor Phil Green officiating. Burial will follow at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, September 6, 2024, from 2:00 until 7:00 P.M., at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with family present from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to the Ronald McDonald House or Coronado Quivira Museum in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
