City sales tax revenue increases in June

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The city of Hutchinson saw a 15.7% increase in sales tax revenue in June when compared to the previous year. 

According to figures released on Monday, the city took in $1,612,591, compared to $1,393,082 in 2021, an increase of nearly $220,000. 

The sales tax on the Hutchinson Sports Arena project totaled just over $321,000 and the ¼-cent sales tax for the city also brought in about $229,000 for the entities it supports.

For the first half of the calendar year the city has taken in a total of $8.891,792 or about 47% from its budget projection for the year. 

Sales tax revenue for June reflects shopping trends for the month of April.
