HUTCHINSON, Kan. β Families in Hutchinson preparing to send their children to kindergarten this fall will have an opportunity to get a head start later this month during the annual Kindergarten Meet & Greet hosted by Hutchinson USD 308.
The district will hold its Meet & Greet on Tuesday, April 21, from 6 to 7 p.m. at five elementary schools: Faris, Graber, Lincoln-McCandless, Morgan and Wiley. The session for Allen STEM Magnet is scheduled for Thursday, April 23, also from 6 to 7 p.m.
District officials say the events are designed to help incoming kindergarten students and their families become familiar with their school environment ahead of the 2026β27 academic year.
Families will have the opportunity to tour classrooms, meet teachers and staff, ask questions about the upcoming school year and enjoy light refreshments. The events also serve as an introduction to school routines and expectations, helping ease the transition into kindergarten.
More information is available on the district's website at this link.
Children who turn five years old on or before Aug. 31, 2026, are eligible to enroll in kindergarten for the upcoming school year. For families whose children do not meet the age requirement, the district offers its Lilβ Hawks Pre-K program as an alternative early learning option.
