
Carl Rex Waggoner, 44, died March 5, 2025, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born February 11, 1981, in Hutchinson, to George Thomas and Amy Elizabeth (Howell) Waggoner.
Carl graduated from Normandy Tech High School, St. Louis County, MO, in 2001. He worked for Mass Trucking Co. and Titus as a truck driver and for Ryder as a truck dispatcher. Carl also worked as a heavy equipment operator for many companies in Kansas, as a security guard in Wichita, and was a beekeeper in Colorado. He was a devoted father and loyal friend; Carl would do anything for anybody. He enjoyed camping and cooking for others. Carl’s passion was riding motorcycles and he was in the Odin’s Ghost Motorcycle Club. He attended Bethany Nazarene Church, Hutchinson.
Carl was survived by: his children, Ashton Waggoner, Samora Waggoner, both of Great Bend, Jacob Carson and Jordan Waggoner, both of Hutchinson, Allen Palmatier, Ariel Palmatier, Araya Palmatier, Willo Dudrey; great-grandchildren, Azalea Palmatier, Grayson McVey, Wesley McVey, Ember Palmatier, Calix Palmatier; mother, Amy Waggoner of Hutchinson, siblings, Casey Renee (Dave) Ruzicka of Marshfield, MO, George Cayln Robert (Nicole) Waggoner of Hutchinson, grandmother, Vicki Swanson of Hutchinson; aunts, Karla (Tim) Reed of Berryton, Karla (Dave) Anderson of Lisle, IL, Karen (Gordon) Priemer of Bath, OH, Wendy Deibert and Stormi (Mark) Kidd, all of Highland, IL; uncles, Ryan (Robin) Swanson of Hutchinson, Blake (Shelby) Waggoner of Durham, NC, Lance Waggoner of Mulberry Grove, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his father, George Thomas Waggoner, who died on June 2, 2024, grandparents, Carl E. and Mabel L. Waggoner and Theodore P. and Marilyn Waggoner; grandpa, Robert M. “Swanee” Swanson; uncle, Edward F. Waggoner; and the love of his life, Elizabeth M. Palmatier.
A memorial service will be held at Bethany Nazarene Church, 408 N. Kent Rd., Hutchinson on Monday, March 10, 2025, from 6 to 8 pm, with Pastor Jason Avery officiating. The Celebration of Life will be from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. Friends may sign the book 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, at Elliott Mortuary. In respect of Carl’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
