Sarah Sabin, 87, of Hutchinson passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord on December 31, 2023. Sarah was born in South Hutchinson to William and Katie Cochran. She graduated from Partridge High School.
Sarah was united with Robert “Bob” Sabin and together she and Bob farmed east of Hutchinson until Bob’s death in 2007. Sarah loved working with their livestock and spent many hours tending to them, often nursing them back to health. She raised a large garden each year to help provide for their family as well as sharing with others. Sarah and Bob spent many hours on their motorcycle taking day trips and enjoying nature.
After retiring from the farm Sarah lived at Plaza Towers in Hutchinson. Almost daily she met with a group of friends at McDonald’s drinking coffee and visiting. She also was always willing to do whatever she could to ease another’s burden with offers to drive them to appointments, sharing baked goods and just being a friend who was willing to listen. When her health declined Sarah became a resident of Hutchinson Health and Rehab.
Sarah was a member of Bethany Nazarene Church and volunteered numerous hours in the nursery, teaching children and providing funeral dinners for other members.Sarah is preceded in death by her husband Bob, her parents and several siblings. She is survived by a son Stan (Maria) and three grandchildren, Jessica, Lisa (Chris) and Matthew all of Bartlesville, OK.
At Sarah’s request she was cremated with no formal service. Sarah’s final resting place will be beside her beloved husband in Burrton Cemetery.
