HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Board of County Commissioners will discuss at a future meeting whether they should hold public meetings in the unzoned areas of the county to contemplate zoning in the entirety of the county or not.

Right now, the western half of the county is not subject to the same zoning regulations as the northeast and southeast corners are.

Commissioner Randy Parks wants to see the commission have that conversation and Commissioner John Whitesel wanted to be sure that it is on a future agenda so that the public could be made aware in case they want to come to that future meeting to comment on it before any further steps are taken.

Staff was directed to put that item on a future agenda, potentially as soon as the next meeting, which would be March 27.
