HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A new Manufacturing Expo coming up next month in Hutchinson is set to revolutionize the way manufacturers and suppliers connect in Reno County.
"Greater Hutch, our economic development partnership and the Chamber and StartUp Hutch are all partnering to host a brand new event," said Chamber CEO Debra Teufel. "It will be in Sunflower South, I believe, on the Kansas State Fairgrounds on Nov. 8. In order to plan for that, we need manufacturers and suppliers to register."
This event comes at no cost to both exhibitors and attendees.
"Go to hutchchamber.com, calendar of events, November 8th, if you click on that, you can register as either a supplier, a vendor, a service provider or a prime producer," Teufel said. "The reason we want all of those segments is that this is going to be kind of a matchmaking event."
The expo will also host a new Career Quest Mega Tour Day.
"We will have about 600 kids that flow through that day," Teufel said. "They are going to hear presentations from these manufacturers and be able to do kind of a scavenger hunt and ask questions and learn about job opportunities in the manufacturing realm. It won't be a successful event without all of those layers of the supply chain for manufacturers and the primes being there."
