
SEDGWICK COUNTY— Law enforement are investigating a deadly home invasion and shooting in Wichita.
Just before 8:30 p.m. Saturday, police responded to a home in the 100 block of North Ash in Wichita, according to a media release. When officers arrived, they found a 52-year-old man and 67-year-old man inside the home with gunshot wounds. Both were transported to a local hospital, the 52-year-old was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. The 67-year-old remained in critical but stable condition late Sunday.
Police arrested a neighbor identified in booking records as 54-year-old Matthew D. Morgan. An unknown suspect fled the residence on foot. The motive for the home invasion remains under investigation.
Morgan was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on requested charges of second-degree reckless murder.
